Theories are born,
developed and refuted bye new theories as plausible as the old ones. The work
"cellulite" was used for the first time by Hoyner in 1891. This, in fact, was
incorrect because the term cellulite means "inflammation of the cell" and there
is actually no such inflammation that occurs in our sub-cutaneous tissue. Then,
around 1980, after many previous years of research, it was concluded that
cellulite is an alteration of the sub-cutaneous tissue due to purely local and
specific area disorders.
